this is a guy I know, he is local to orlando and is a good guy
http://www.fuji-racing.com/
he makes (puts together) ITB kits for miatas and NA 13b's and has built some nice cars. Shoot him an email if your interested in the oil.
yeah, the rotary never caught on here in the states.....so a lot of the vendors specific to the RX_ dont really have vendors in the US. Even the vendors that are over here that have RX_ parts dont stock a lot of them, or it takes a while to get.
Its a let down for fans of the car/motor.....even...
Id be REALLY interested to know exacaly what oil they put in, esp since it is supposed to be a non-syn oil in the car (according to mazda north america). All mobil 1 is technicaly "synthetic" although most of their oils dont use a PAO or POA (whatever it is) base stock, so they are just REALLY...
I know of a few vendors/shops that carry or can get Idemitsu (spelling?) as well as RE-Amemiya branded oil (i heard it is just idemitsu re labled and sold at a higher price).
the only thing I could see is that some dealers (when the RX8 first came out) didnt have the correct weight oil (5w20) and would actualy buy it from local parts stores by the bottle......although they didnt pass the cost off to the customer, they just billed mazda for it and charged the customer...
I live in FL (so no chance of anything but rain and heat here) but I have several friends that drive their cars daily in the snow (durring winter).
Mazda did EXTENSIVE wintertesting with the RX8 in heavy snow and ice in some of the coldest places on earth. The car is light and RWD but the...
how bad was the crash the front of the car was in? any frame damage?
also, i wouldnt install the harnesses on that rear tie bar.....who knows if it could take the force in a crash....also, if those are not a name brand harness, I would ditch them.
so your saying your coolant overflow tank is......overflowing?
do you notice your temp gauge read above normal....is the coolant discolored at all? did you remove the AST (air seperator tank) or replace it with an aftermarket unit?
any more info you can give us on the problem?
are you running...
the gt35r is a great match to a stock engine rx7 or a street-port rx7, it can make 400whp@1bar of boost on pump gas, and with a street port make almost 450whp@1bar of boost on pump gas, boost comes on early and really pulls from ~3000 to redline. It really makes it a fun street car.
it wont make as much power as the t04r series of turbo, those will flow enough to make over 500whp, the t04s (a 60-1 turbo with a t04s cover) and a GT35R will make about the same power, at about the same boost, and do so SAFELY on pump gas....... Thats about 400whp@1 bar (15psi) and about 450whp...
the car feeling faster has some truth to it, as the engine wears the seals seat themselfs and the car "breaks in". It does take quite a bit longer for a rotary engine to "break in" than a piston motor....although the differences we are talking about on a new motor vs a motor with say 10,000...
that 900 includes the headlight housing itself, and the HID bulb and ballast, the other bulbs that go in the housing and I belive the wiring harness as well.
its not uncommon for the 1 peice sealed headlights on modern cars to cost 500-800+ each.
