Hey guys looking for a little help, would be safe to run 45 series tire on gen 2 mazdaspeed3 rim? The factory rim size is 225/40/18 for gen 2 and gen 1 is 215/45/18. I am trying to get little bit more cushion in my ride... and yes I am getting old...

I think you will be fine. I have backfired near a cop on numerous occasions, they look at you for a minute and go back to what they were doing. I have a full turbo back exhaust by CNT on Speed3.

Yes, you should put a Test Pipe on your car. The HT will help tune the computer according once the TP is installed. I have installed a CorkSport TP, Mazdaspeed CAI, and HT tune with no issues. Plus, I love the sound when going wide-open throttle.
