The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Hey guys looking for a little help, would be safe to run 45 series tire on gen 2 mazdaspeed3 rim? The factory rim size is 225/40/18 for gen 2 and gen 1 is 215/45/18. I am trying to get little bit more cushion in my ride... and yes I am getting old...

You'll be fine. That small size increase wont affect anything except throw the speedo off just a hair.

Wow, I've missed a lot. Apparently I need to start going to meets more often, too.

^^^ If that's true then Jon is probably the best race car driver ever since he's had, what, three sets now, buddy? haha

Yep! 17x7 +45 for the P5, 16x8 +32 for the red RX7, and 17x9 +22 for the silver RX7. If I decide I'm keeping the 2 I'll consider 15x7 +35 for it :)

Find me a set of decent-looking wheels with a similar weight/cost combo.

6UL's? $129 each. 11.4 lbs. Downside is they never seem to be in stock, Weigh about 2lbs more.

Morning....thanks for the early morning laughs (I read through the last few pages). I'll always chuckle now when I see a VVT sticker.

All great wheel choices. The 6UL Gen 4 should be showing up this fall.

Introduced in the fall, but not available until the spring/early summer.

I wouldn't know when SEMA is as I am not into stuff like that I guess. But thanks

SEMA is when companies like CP-e, JBR and other companies introduce new products. All of the major auto manufacturers have displays as well, pretty much anything and anyone that has anything to do with the automotive industry is there.

yea I know that I just am really bad about keeping up with stuff like that. I just wait till I can see the release dates on the forums from under my rock

Phen and I are meeting Cres from CR3 at Sema in Vegas this fall. Vegas baby!

Anyone have an idea of what could be causing a clicking noise on my car? Only happens when taking off in first gear. One click, then it's silent. Comes from the passenger side, front wheel area. All motor mounts are torqued to spec, front endlinks are good, lug nuts are torqued, brake caliper is on there good, etc. My front sway bar bushings need replaced, but that's a whole different noise.
