MSCAI + TIP....Which Turbo Inlet is Best?

No factual testing here other than whats been proven over the years on other engines..... But... A larger volume TIP will allow the turbo to spin up faster than one having to draw from a flat or less volume TIP. Then when you add a restricted OEM filtering system in the mix, the OEM TIP will...

Anybody else get this in their MS3?? passenger side axle seal leak

I smell BS here.... I think you got a lame excuse from Mazda.... Not only is that seal there to keep the grease in.....but also to keep the dirt out! It's dirt and sand that kills the CV joint. Ask the pin head at Mazda what happens when you drive in the rain storm....... Ask him what the...

Official 'Smoking Turbo' response from Mazda

Ok, I get the time line of the warrantied parts. So your implying that a faulty PVC valve is not part of the smog system, along with a poorly designed drain back system that causes excessive hydrocarbons to be emmited throught the exhaust pipe at prolonged idle? Or have I misunderstood your...

Official 'Smoking Turbo' response from Mazda

Food For Thought!!!!!!!! I see everyone has their panties up in a bunch over oil changes etc. The one thing you all have missed is the fact that this is part of the Federal smog system. By Federal law, the manufacturer of the vehicle is responsible to fix or repair and defective part for up...

Anybody subscribed to the thread with the turbo plumbing diagram?

Poof! Here's the link. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123712889 I didn't see any drawings in the link. I could be wrong though as I didn't spend much time there. There where a number of different ways the MBC was plumbed before it was done right, or should I say plumbed for...

    Ms3 Mpg

Drove my car for 1600 miles, all freeway miles, ok almost. Did the calc's at every stop. Low was 27mpg while the high was 30mpg. At the end of the trip I had way more slips at 30 mpg that the ones at 27. I did drive consertive, but did bump 140mph once.... In town...this car sucks....fuel that...

    SU TMIC Installed.

Cad? I've been waiting to pull the trigger on a TMIC. So I have been paying attention to you all's posts. To me when a simple preformed hose has issues, it's more than likely the new component alignment that is the issue. Since the turbo hot pipe is a given, it then must be the new IC inlet...

What do you think? Balance Shaft Delete Kit?

Shafted Again! Here's my two cents and that all it is..... If your running a 1/4 mile car, I'd dump the shaft in a hurry as Tru Boost has stated. In quick rpm ramp ups the shaft would cause stress or flexing to the crank and BS. Note though that the gear on the Balance Shaft is much larger...

Anyone actually using a manual boost controller

Add me to the list! Love it and have full control over the boost pressures....need I say more?

I'm having problems keeping the front end on the ground! (confused)

    Boost control

Same here! Really woke the car up. I run 10 psi in town to keep the engine in the engine bay, but can and do crank up the boost from inside the cabin with Hallman's remote boost controller cable when needed. (evil)

FYI: Carrillo Rods vs. Factory Rods

True! Although the static compression will remain the same, through cam and ignition timing, dynamic compression can be increased and be used to create more HP with a much shorter rod. Not torque.....

    Race Gas??

Lead fouls plugs when you pour a lot through the motor! It also was a lubricant for the valve seats. http://www.exx.se/techinfo/sparkplugs_ngk/sparkplugs.html

FYI: Carrillo Rods vs. Factory Rods

Here's an explation for short vs Long connecting rod in a race motor and what is involved in making it run at peak performance levels. You always want the piston at acceptable squish clearances at TDC. Rod Length Relationships In general, most observations relate to engines used for some...
