    P5 Almost Problemless

    1. Get your A/C checked out, it may just need a charge if its loosing cooling power. Water under the Passenger Front is normal. Theres a vent from the A/C condensor and it just vents out water that is created when the A/C is turned on out onto the ground. 2. You can control your power windows...

    Strut mount

I would..isn't it like 40bucks per upper mount? If shitton of dirt gets in there or overtime the bearings get worn and seized...could cause some nasty noises. Might as well.

About to buy it brand-new in box from a local guy... Just wondering what comes with the kit (Tokico Blues). a. Does it come with all necessary hardware? Does it come with the upper strut mounts or do I have to transfer if over from the old struts? b. Would I need new rubber stoppers? Basically...

    miata or rx7?

Great post, Foolish. Up here in Canada the miata/mx-5 is still a bit of a hard car to come by used. Even if used with 150,000kms the asking price is around $5,000. I want to get a two-seater, coupe/convertible to cruise around in the summer pretty much, with light autocross. Also I was planning...

Soft brakes after brake pads replacement

i've personally never seen a seal get damaged by forcing the fluid back up. you'd think that when you push on the pedal thus forcing what tons of force would do the trick. but if there is a seal damaged depending on where it is, could be an internal leak (no visible sign of leakage) or...

    miata or rx7?

I'm looking to get a second car and I can't decide which one is for me. I'm looking at either a first gen or second gen, miata and a second generation rx7. I was hell bent on getting a miata but after looking into the RX7's..theres something dark and mysterious about that rotary engine. Any...

Soft brakes after brake pads replacement

When you are at a stop while having the brake pressed firmly, does it slowly go down? Your problem sounds awefully like pedal fade. Maybe you haven't noticed it before until you placed the new pads beause you were expecting some improvement in braking, so you wouldn't notice it until you were...

    Front end noises

Doesn't sound like swaybar bushings. Try and see if you can get a buddy to bounce on the drivers front end really hard (I guess stand on the door sill of the drivers front and reef like hell) and see if you can point it out yourself. Don't start replacing random things hoping it would fix it.

Anybody use 0w 20 oil during winter?

Beats me... I always assume flow is better. Thinner = faster flow right (as opposed to thick heavy oils). It would lubricate your cold engine FASTER than if you had lets say 10w in it. Now I'm not so sure about putting a 20w though. I'd just go by factory manual though.

steering wheel vibration (not unbalanceod wheels)

+1 for Damaged Rim or even tire. Separated treads can cause some massive vibrations. Even a slightly bent rim can cause your wheels to be out of run-out specifications which would results in some uncomfortable driving... Also isn't the wheel bearings pressed into the hub covered by a few races...

Slow to start in the cold

SOME batteries you will have to service.. Newer Batteries with out the caps to fill to maintain the correct electrolyte levels do not have to be maintained.

    Power steering issues

Generally, Power steering assist is high when at low speeds like parking lot speeds, versus lane changes at highway speeds. I would think there would be an internal leak (no fluid loss) within the power cylinders in the rack.so likely there would be low hydraulic pressure. What I'd do is check...

Need help replacing front break pads 03' P5

    1. The pistons are easier to compress if you open the bleeder screw 2. If your fluid is dirty it would most be dirty on the line before the caliper. If you want to force that through your HCU (pretty thats the right acronymn) abs module then be my guess.

    Question about p5 wheel bearings...

Depends how long your lab is going to take. It doesn't take long to get the hub out, then its a matter of techniques used and know how to get the bearing out and in. Technically, you don't need a press to remove it. After you get the rings out, take a matching Impact socket that fits on top of...
