So, they just sit on the top of the non-moving part of the strut? Hard to understand that, I know. There's the gold part and the silver part. The silver part is what moves in and out of the gold part. The plastic washers sit on the top edge of the gold part?

For anyone who has done or has knowledge of the Koni FSD install on a Mazda 3 hatch, how important are the little plastic washers/pieces, and just exactly where do they go on the strut?

I replaced both bump stops and one strut bearing. The bump stops were $20 each and the bearing was $48.

It is the part on the top left of page 6 of the AEM instructions. The cp-e install instructions call it the factory air box scoop. How needed is it with the stock air box or an SRI?

I figured I'd 'weld' a nut to the slug part, then use that to unscrew the piece out. No chance of it getting into the threads of the frame - the bolt is still in there.
