What have you done to your MSP today?

I should be able to buy another, at the very least, AFC within the next 3 weeks. I'd really like an FTC, but I just want to drive the damn car!

After the lip install :)

Picked up another AFC (V1) for $55 (lol) so I can drive the car again. Hopefully see it by this weekend. There's a Dragon run Sunday. Also getting new rubber for it. Besides that the only thing that needs attention is the clutch. Pressure plate is going out. After that's corrected, it'll be 100%.

So I take it then Monday you'll be posting about how something else broke right? Hope not. It's no fun breaking things. You've got a history though.

It's been fine since rebuilding the built engine at the beginning of the year and installing my AWR deep sump. I just downed it about 3 1/2 weeks ago because I sold my AFC V2 to help pay bills and with the intent of getting an FTC, but the FTC fell through. Stumbled across this AFC V1 for super cheap and couldn't pass it up, so that I can drive the car.

Actually, I take that back- one of my slim fans stopped working.

Found an 01 ES with rod knock for $800 that looks (from pictures) to be in extremely good shape. Unfortunately, I can't spend $800 on the car right now, but if it's there a month from now, it's mine. Throw some of my OE MSP parts on it (maybe the turbo parts- mwahahahaha) and have a somewhat fuel-efficient daily driver to add to the stable. With that being said, I had my OE Racing Beats on my Tokico Illuminas and the rear sat lower than the front- would that be the case if I put the Racing Beats on the OE ES struts? I'm guessing, yes.

Yes, the stock RB springs are shorter.

Went to the JY today and got some odds and ends. To think my MSP never had the little rubber stoppers for the fuel door, until today! Painting the manifold and reinstalling the turbo tomorrow and she will be back on the road.

Just wanted to run this by you guys since you are all veterans of the msp. I have both a steedspeed stock replacement manifold and a mam stock replacement manifold. I've tried looking up info on the mam manifold as a means to make up my mind and decide which one I'll keep. I just sent the mam out to get it re ceramic coated so that's a plus. I was planning to bolt on the GT28R to it along with a pope downpipe and vibrant 3" exhaust. The steedspeed is currently on the car and has less than 10000 miles on it, I honestly haven't had any issues with it. I have to take it off to swap turbos so basically I want to run the best out of the two. Thanks

Ps- I searched as much as I could and couldn't find any clear answers.

well, 5 months overdue, but i picked up a $500 mx3 yesterday, spent some hours under it today and insured it. MY blazing yellow is now retired until such time i can get;

my pope stuff finally gets to me.... corksport exhaust, mfactory lsd, new second gear as ive prob chewed it bouncing off it so many times... new trans bearings throughout. new clutch cause for whatever reason this new exedy rattles at all times the clutch is engaged and spinning. new struts/coilovers cause they DONE! new LCA's new bushings on everything. new brakes, new wheel bearings cause i can only speculate that the new brakes in 2012 are whats squeeking.. while all that is on the chopping block ill probably just throw some rods in it and tune for 12-15 psi.

the mx3 though.. gawwd.. what a headache... i didnt spend that much on the rebuild kit to get th eheads cleaned up and redone, but the distributor blew up and i couldnt find a replacement for less than $250 usd.. by the time i get that, its over $300 cdn.. and it only MIGHT have been the problem. add to that the newly developed auto trans issues when cold, the $500 gs 5spd i picked up in the same color was just a better option..

over the next few weeks ill strip the 92gs for parts that ill need for the 94 gs.. ie, the exhaust that the kid who owned it HACKSAWED off.. using some ghetto loop exhaust clamps to hold it together for now but the motor mounts are so worn that i have to shift super gentle or the exhaust breaks.. i might see if the msp front motor mount will fit the mx3 this weekend.
its actually a pretty fun car for only 130hp.. when new. car weighs a lot but seems to have good pick up as the revs increase.

Don't be too discouraged. My bro has an MX-3 with nearly 750,000 miles on it. He does delivery in it and puts about 150 miles on it a day for...geez. 10 years+
Find those gremlins and you've got a killer little daily beater.

Content: I've done nothing. My MSP has been sitting for weeks and looks pretty sad out there, all neglected and covered in seagull s***. :( I think I'll clean it up and take it for a spin in the hills tomorrow.

Keep the MAM, what is the steedspeed worth to you?

I really haven't put much thought into it. Specially cause it is still on the car. I'll research what these go for now, and go from there. I've debated keeping both since it is virtually impossible to get them now.

hats off to valk for even considering dumping all that $ into an msp

100% in agreement. Last night I found myself questioning my sanity regarding the investments I've been making on the msp as of late. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Keep it up Valk.

Most of the stuff I wanna do isn't that expensive. but all at once is what hurts lol. Most of you guys don't think twice abouy a set of coils or exhausts. Just sucks for me cause it all needs doing semi close to eachother.
I prob won't spend more than $1000 refreshing the engine. 200-225 on stock turbo is just fine. It will get a cheap forge build. No headwork no custom anything except the pope stuff. Think of iy as my 7 years of no/low.maint and no problems all coming together now lol.

But that's why its off the road as I wont be able to.put it together this or even next year. Ill also want tje mx3 to not look like a pos. It runs and drives awesome and everything still works. ill fix the ghetto.stuff and make it look sharp.
