Mazdaspeed Protege Aftermarket Parts Listing

Quick question... If I'm trying to plug a MP3 into the stock mazdaspeed headunit (KDC-MP919) I guess is the model #...

This will do it, with the correct adapter (RCA to MP3 player)

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Mc5GsDuMle5/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=113CAC1AX

cause there's only 1 input... so I need this plug right?

Only problem is, is there a way to go through the menu (Off, Radio am/fm, CD) such as AUX, or whatever the menu is for the MP3 when it's plugged in? Thanks for any help...!

Bump for a 'cleaning up' of this thread ..

I just started working on it, but how is it looking so far?

If you see anything out-of-place, know of anything that needs to be added off the top of your head -- PLEASE let me know about it, and give me as much detail as you can about the part! Price, where to get it, what it does, and so on.

well i never herd anything about that hiboost kit but im telling you right now that you wont get the 400+hp on a stock motor. if i was you i would get individual parts. Vibrant has a 3" turbo back exhaust which is better than the 2.5" down pipe, then kinetic motorsports has a nice intercooler setup, Injen cai, the new q version unichip, new fuel injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump, water/meth kit, lightened flywheel, a stage 3 clutch and like 14psi and you will be more than satisified. Trust me i know

Almost complete with the parts indicated.I will bookmarked the page and hopefully all the information here will be save for us to be a reference in the future. And also incoming newbies will read it as well.

ok well i have been hunting around for spark plugs by the numbers on this thread...very helpful until u go to a parts store and try to buy them.. lol so me being my mechanic self... i went searching and for the denso spark plugs one step colder in iridium the part number is ik22. and the cooper part number couldnt be found where i went.. then i went a step farther because all the talk of gaps got me looking around to try to find one closer... but it turns out that mazdaspeeds gap for the plugs is supposed to be 1.0-1.1(.040-.043) its not supposed to be .8mm like this thread states.... it is very helpful though and im just throwing in my two cents. so some stock plug choices are as follows:

NGK---BKR5E-11*
BKR6E-11**
PZFR6F***

DENSO--- K16PR-U11*
K20PR-U11**

CHAMPION--- RC10YC4*
RC8YC4**

MAZDA--- BP13 18 110*
BP14 18 110**

*= regular heat range
**= one colder heat range
***= for fs motor with turbo

Those are the plugs that i got for the correct oem plugs all with a 1.0-1.1 gap.

i got all this info from www.ondemand5.com it is like alldata but better and is has all the mazda specs and info and pictures on it.

My MSP is at stock and I'm a newb. Are IZFR6F's safe to use for every day driver? The specs say .044 gap height. And so that's a .011 additional range from the stock plugs. I'm guessing anything you've listed as "(stock heat range)" is fine.
