Not necessarily correct. You will feel more acceleration at your peak tq than your peak HP(turbo cars are an acception due to turbo lag). It's better to have peak tq in the high rpms to make use of gearing as opposed to a wide torque curve.

Stick to OEM, aftermarket stuff may be cheaper but in the long run you'll be happy with OEM parts on your car.
