I have Wi-Fi on my 2018 CX-5 diesel but I just don't know what it's for. Anybody can chime in?
Can you surf the Internet? Or I have seen people in Asia watching movies and TV shows on infotainment screen with Internet access while driving ⋯ (whistle)I have Wi-Fi on my 2018 CX-5 diesel but I just don't know what it's for. Anybody can chime in?
Yeah, just what we need - another distraction.
I can see morons driving down the road watching porn.
I have it activated as well (being in the EU). I travel every year from Belgium to the south of France (a 1.000 km trip). Once the NAV destination entered, and I start the engine, the WiFi connects to my home-network and automatically downloads fuel-prices along the route, weather, and live traffic on the long trip. It is some 12 hours driving .....
And vice-versa : when departing from our vacation-destination I enter "go home" and I connect to the WiFi of the vacation-home; the NAV then retrieves all necessary info for my trip home.
The trip is only 1.000 km, but approximately halfway, whilst refuelling, I connect again to an open (guest) WiFi-network from the fuel-station / raststatte / resting area / restaurant etc. to update to the latest status of any road-problems ahead. Saved me a lot of (unnecessary) time on the road, fi. when circumventing or bypassing the hughe Paris area inbound Brussels.
I fully agree with Jonno21 here, as I do not understand neither why this (nice) system isn't implemented in the US.
and if you put you GSM hot spot on, you have always the latest info
