Protege High Mileage Club

2001 Protege LX, 234,000 miles
Bone stock except for K&N filter, runs & drives perfect. Body and engine are 100% original. Bought it in 2009 with 177,000 miles for $750 from a friend who had purchased it new. Have since done a couple of tune-ups and the following non-routine maintenance:
Exhaust @ 185k
Alternator belt @ 187k
Timing belt @ 200k
Trans range sensor @ 210k
Complete front suspension rebuild @ 212k
Motor mounts and water pump @ 215k
Struts and strut mounts all the way around @ 233k
Compressor @ 234k

I'm gonna see if I can get 300k out of it... At approx 25k per year, should have it done by 2014.

Protege5 clocked in at 208750. Rusty gas tank (and rusty body) spelled the end of the road. At 208K, car burns about 1qt every 2K or 3K, depending on how hard it was driven. Engine still runs strong, transmission shifts great. Mobil1/synthetic entire life.

Sold my 98 at 298,000km. Still ran absolutely fine.

Not sure what it was at when it got crushed a year and a half later.

My p5 had 126000 miles runs good, shift good and was drinking oil good, put a quarter on monday an saturday put another quater and a half, traded in las sunday for a brand new scion Xb..

My car has 116k! I just replaced the timimng, all motor mounts, belts, and the oil. Its ran great since I have had it and its my trusty little baby.(breakn)

226,xxx ... Cant wait till I hit 300,000. Lol
