Hey everyone! Wow it has been a really long time since I've been on the forums and I'm so happy to see most of the regulars are still around. Sorry for not being around Mazda family but, I'm back. No Mazda for me yet, I still have the 86 Jeep Cherokee that is in my sig but boy has it gone through some transformations! The build isn't complete yet but it is super close to being done, enjoy the pics, hope you like them :)

The biggest shout out goes to the man doing all this work for me. Tony Malke from Shifted Performance located in Orange, NJ.
His work is top notch and done with absolute pride and he is a bad ass guy!! I met Tony through a friend, Tony was building my buddies 2JZ RX7.
When I saw his quality of work I knew he was the guy for the job! And damn was I right! Thank you Tony!

This will be fun to follow!

And I see you utilized the standard Mopar 6 cylinder swap technique. Just cut the core support and weld it back in later. LOL. I did the same on my 84 Ram with a slant 6.

Thanks for the comments guys! My friend Tony is the guy doing the swap, the Jeep is in New Jersey at his house so the other sick cars you see are all his :)
In the garage next to the Jeep is a 97 FD with a 2JZ swap, it is gnarly with 800whp!!! The Supra is his daily driver but will go under the knife when the FD is complete.
Phen: There is actually no core support under the motor, just motor mounts, same way the stock motor was supported.
Stealth: I want the powertrain to really stand out, Motor=pink, tranny=green and transfercase=baby blue. Still thinking about making the driveshaft look like a candy cane lol. Final color of the Jeep will be flat black, carpets taken out inside and rubberizing put in it's place as well as the bumpers and fender flares.

Pics of the FD for you guys

Lol yeah that's what I was thinking, similar to the twirly thing outside barber shops!

Yeah I love Cherokees. But im also a fan of the 4.0 inline 6.

BTW, show some pics of your old mazda!

I would have put in the I6 but the engine bay changed between 86 and 87 so the I6 wont fit. Commonly Jeep parts are the hardest to swap into Jeeps lol.
The V8+Muncie SM465 tranny+NP231 transfercase is one of the most bulletproof combo's out there. And I got the motor+tranny for $450!!!

Few pics of the MSP as requested:

Yeah, Im just sorta familiar with the I6. They seem to be hell of motors. BTW I loved your msp. Did yours get burnt up in a fire?

Did the V8 to also be different :) Yeah it burned down, saddest day of my life!

Jeep is completely painted :)

Miscommunication on the transfercase paint color, supposed to be baby blue.

Old bellhousing on the right the wouldn't work with the clutch slave retro fit kit.

Had to do some grinding to the new bellhousing to make it fit onto the tranny and get the starter to fit.
