iPod work with the 2024 Mazda CX-5?

I am looking to buy a new car and possibly a 2024 Mazda CX-5.

I like using an iPod. I could go to Apple Music with my phone, but that would require plugging my Android phone into the USB connector. I do so many short trips with two to five miles, and that would be a pain.

Currently now with my Honda Accord, the iPod works via Bluetooth. That connection fails every six times or so with me having to turn off Bluetooth on the iPod and turn it back on. I just listed to talk radio for that trip. The next time I start up the car, the iPod works fine.

For the CX-5, is the Android Auto connection via a USB port or wireless?

Does an iPod work via the USB port AUX connection?

Not sure why you're asking about AA and an iPod. 2 different things.
You could continue to use the iPod over BT in a Mazda.

The higher trim Mazda's have wireless AA.

There is no USB AUX connection, iPod would need to connect via Bluetooth. Alternatively, you could copy the music files from the iPod (or computer) to a USB stick and plug that into the USB port in the CX5 and play the songs from there.
