How-to: Fogs always on [PICTURES]

of course it's a girl, can't you tell by her hands nice and smooth. Most guys hands are rough and scaly looking, like mine.

Haha. oh god, a girl doing stuff to her car. the world is coming to an end.(flame2)

Thanks for the how-to! Just got this done. One suggestion, those connections should be soldered for the most secure connection.

Yeah, I probably should of soldered it, I'll go back and do that when it's not so freaking cold out.

EDIT: Good write up, finally 1 w/ pics! :D

Thanks aMaff!!!!

my view: 1st: you're only allowed 4 'main' lights on at one time (hence the reason for the fogs turning off when the lows AND highs are on). 2nd: isn't having them both on at the same time kind of counter productive? The highs are for long distance, high visibility. You're probably not looking where the fogs are anyway. The fogs are for low visibility, when the highs would just reflect back into your face (ie: IN FOG, heavy rain, etc lol)

So yea, that's just me. Good night

But it looks awesome...(lol2)

My sig tells you all!

I've done the mod couple months ago with the Bumble G technique and they remains on even with the high beams.

Look at my cardomain site for more pics!

but your alternator will hate you. thats way too much of a power drain on our electrical system, just think, you have 55w lows, 60w highs, and 55w fogs. do the math (here ill do it for you) thats 340 watts at one time.
now i dont know the exact specs on our alternator (if you know them please feel free to post) but i do know that its not going to handle 340 watts consistently for any extended period of time.

be smart, and save yourself some money.

agreed...

Just did this mod over the weekend in about 10 minutes. Longest time was spent trying to figure out how to get the danged side panel off!(freak)

But, works great, looks even better. But, I now realize the fogs are nearly useless. They point straight down. I don't get any light more than 3-4 feet in front of me. Can't wait for my PIAA's to show, then I'll bend up the little tabby.

fogs are useless unless you can bend the little metal thing in the fog that make them point down...but how??

pull the bulb out, stick your finger inside the housing, and press up on the metal tab inside. But, not too far, or you'll be cancelling out the use of the fog.

I have had this for a couple years. Now that I have kick ass fogs I will need to take some pics. 380K candlepower FTMFW!

OR.... you could just loosen the bolts on the bracket and tilt it up a bit

what the hell kinda fogs do you have??? please inform us

I used stainless steel to bend into a 90 degree angle and then drilled 3/8 inch slots to adjust the bolt under the fog and attach it to a bolt in the factory slot. You will need two extra 3/8 inch bolts to attach the bracket to the factory mounting point. One for each side.

I have not had any wires melt on these 100w bulbs either. The fogs are also adjustable.

Here is a pick of them installed. Look stock. I need pics of them turned on as they are very bright.

Diehonda, I'm thinking about these...where did you get the steel and did you wire them to the stock fog switch? I want to do that, but I'm no whiz with the wires...any feedback/ideas appreciated...
