First response back from Mazda about heated seat performance, they say they can't provide temperatures because there are too many factors involved in determining the temperature. I politely called them out on that being a poor answer because it has to have a max temperature it can hit for safety reasons, and I asked them for explanation on what those factors are. Hopefully some real info will be forthcoming soon. I'd really love to have better performing heated seats. One thing that has me intrigued, maybe the reason we are seeing such different performance is because the heated seats are taking ambient air temperature into account. Can anyone who has heated seats which get hot enough they have to turn them down confirm whether this is happening when it is also warm outside? (I've tested mine in 40 to 60 degree weather only)
EDIT: Heard back again already, this looks like their final answer:
"I reviewed this with the specialist and I apologize as there is no set temperature as it is influenced by ambient temperature, meaning on a hotter day it won't allow to get that hot due to the seats already being warm to begin with."
So, if we can get anyone to confirm that their heated seats are performing poorly in cold weather or that their normally too hot seats don't get as hot in warm weather, please do!
