Many times when an alternator fails,it is the regulator on it(caused by many different demands of ampers),i d suggest you to either buy a new one or rebuilt it(try to get one with a isolated regulator)wich are not on our cars,and for the dimming,a capacitor would really help you with the dimming...

it looks like a oil pressure problem. Did you ever change your tranny oil? if not it would be a good idea,and put some syntec oil in there...

On a regular exhaust system,you have;the headers-the front pipe with flexible-the cat-the midpipe wich has the resonator on it-the S-pipe-and the axle-back with the muffler... call any autoparts store and ask for a mid-pipe,you ll see...

mid-pipe i guess means middle pipe?if its a cat-back,it goes from the catalitic converter to the back,so the middle pipe is there.. correct me if i am wrong..
