What have you done to your MSP today?

Ok....so the clutch line shares the same reservior as the brakes...so according to the FSM to bleed the clutch you need to siphon the fluid out of the reservior then detached the line to drain. Then fill and go through the bleeding procedure...

Now, since the reservior had been emptied do you need to bleed the brakes as well?

No, as long as the system wasn't operated and allowed air to enter the system. If you depressed a pedal, then yes, you will need to bleed them.

finally had some time to work on the msp i purchased! Picked up EZVs msp a little over a week ago and havnt had any time at all to even look at it. But today spent the day looking over it. Put on a bumper sag fix, rewired boost gauge to show amber instead of white at night, and a few other small things.
anyone else use speed bleeders on the clutch?

drove the car twice today after sitting for two days. Noticed white smoke coming from exhaust. Thought it was just from it being cold out, But it is still there well after the car has reached operating temp. Did a couple of hard pulls to try to "blow it all out" but that didn't help. I got back home after both trips and it still smoked after pulling into my driveway. FML, of course this would happen after spending a good chunk of money on a Haltech EMS. Hoping it's not the signs of a head gasket going bad. If it is, Im not going to just pull the head off for a gasket. If the head comes off, Im rebuilding the engine. Simple as that

Same thing just happened to me two days ago. Concluded it was my head gasket and am now going for a full build since I have to dig that deep anyways.....FML on money and timing eh.

Decided to tone back the build some. 400hp sounds nice, but at the same time useless in this car, especially since I love the twisties. I'll be aiming for around 300hp. And Im probably gonna sell my rx7 and turbo kit for the miata to help get the msp fixed. Then once I get her back and on the road and motor built, I'm gonna get the miata looking good and probably sell it. And possibly put a down payment on a c5 z06 corvette. I've been running it through my head and the only 2 negatives I see is 1) I don't want a car payment again. 2) insurance. So if my insurance is retarded expensive for it or I decide I don't want a car payment, I'll keep the miata buy another Fc vert for the ls swap, you know, one that atleast has an interior lol.

Regardless I'm keeping the msp, the other things will happen during summer, by which time(fingers crossed) the msp will be about where I want it as far as power, looks and suspension.

Sorry for the long post. Lol

^Winning!

Priced out some 17x9 Enkei RPF1's for the front thanks to CR3 motorsports and will hopefully be getting those within the next couple weeks.

you'll be happy to know that Vettes are cheaper on insurance than you think. My mom's vette was cheaper to insure than a mini cooper or a mustang gt no matter who the driver was. Close to 98% of vette owners are retired or close too and they've waited all their lives to get their dream car, they aren't going to be doing crazy things in them.

Thanks. That's good to know. A vette is one of my 2 dream cars. The other one I cannot achieve for a decent price.....1995 escort cosworth......drool

LOL I like this bit...

"Only difference between a Mazdaspeed Protege and a wrx sti or a Evo is they are 4wd and a hell of alot more expensiv."

They must have done some kind of AWD swap and took out the front axles.

fixed my one exhaust leak last night. Also i've made the decision that around feb i'll be selling most of my aftermarket stuff (only the stuff that i can replace) off the protege. Getting out of debt and building credit is more important to me at this point in my life then the protege. If anyone has anything they want to reserve pm me.
