lightning and GT get passed by MSP

Tekkie it was a lot of fun, it was dry all three days. The MSP mostly understeered like a pig through the linked corners & the banked corners are really hard on tires. Only into 4th for a few seconds per lap.

Any keyboard racers can check me out Oct 15-16 at Road America in WI, and tell me how slow I am, how my car can't do that, and how your buddy's car will smoke me with no mods & stock tires.(upyours)

few things.

-Stock MSP = .92 Lateral
-wow that lightning understeers
-the ford GT isn't even trying
-MSP has NOTHING on a GT. I repeat, NOTHING.
-the MSP disappears from view because your in-car with a ******* truck. One that can't handle for peanuts.

Wesman, I realize you track. I do as well. Limerock being my home course. I've been ruining MSP's for quite a while now, granted yours seems to have solid mods. Shame we never got a chance to meet up on an equal playing ground. It would of been very interesting to say the least. Curious, very curious.

Actually I have it turned way down to run 93 safely with the stock computer. I haven't dynoed it but I'm guessing 200-220hp.

The lightning had race rubber & full suspension and could out corner ALL OF YOU. The Lightning chose to stay behind the GT for one lap of video footage, you guys didn't see the other 3.5 hours of the Lightning lapping the GT! In my first session, I could barely keep up with it.
27 trackdays under my belt so far & more autoXs. I will hit Limerock someday, hopefully we can coordinate & be there at the same time.

I think it may be too pretty to get ripped off the next time I go off track.
 
You know you have been my wall paper on my computers for a while now. I use it to push me to upgrade my own Orange Crush/Atomic Popsicle...

I will have a very similiar setup very soon... FMIC and Nicks Turbo upgrade is on the way :)

This is so freaky how close my chosen setup is to this!!!!

Of course, this kind of let's the cat out of the bag for those who haven't looked in my mod closest in a while....

It appears very little among you know what tires are worth on a track. The GT was on streets, I was on Avon Tech Rs. GT was dead stock. Everyone was passing him at Gingerman, almost no one at Shannonville. The drivers were SVT engineers, good at Shannonville and terrible at Gingerman

Somebody post a vid link on the Ford GT board, stir up some s**t!

I've since moved to florida unfortuantely. I've been trying to get onto sebring. That lighting had a suspension eh? Hmm. I'd have to go against it to see, that thing understeer harsh, granted, high speed, but it just looked like it was pushing some serious power and late apexing. Who knows.

I have been to lots of tracks, only recently have I had the camera going.

Looks awsome wesman, any pics of your interior? I'm curious how stripped down you took it.

Also i just watched all the video's and nice work indeed! You are a really good driver and it shows.

so you don't remember your lap times then? c'mon a good driver knows his lap times. even a keyboard racer knows his lap times.
any lap times at "lot of tracks"?
 
I went out with the camera mounted and got black flagged so its not a complete lap.
I have been to Mosport and did 1:45 at 9spi
Lots of tracks is
Road Atlanta
Beaverun
Mont Tremblant
VIR
Shannonville
Gingerman
Mosport
Cayuga
most of them were driving schools & I had no way to time a lap. Guess I'm not a good driver

Wes, I was at Shannonville with you, in the grey Focus. I checked out your car, nice setup you have there.

I also passed the GT, and got the EXACT same response from all the Focus keyboard racers. "Oh, he must have been going slow. His tires must have sucked. He was only running on 4 cylinders. etc..."

People who have never been on track, or even autocrossed, can't even begin to comprehend how a fwd economy car can be as fast or faster than the big faptastic cars.

People have to realize, that the big cars are capable of much more speed, obviously. But they are MUCH more difficult to drive at 100% capability. It's pretty damn scary, and the consequences of even a tiny mistake are HUGE. Therefore, on a trackday, where we're just in it for fun, and the winner doesn't take home $1,000,000.... a well build fwd track ***** can beat up on the big cars. It's easy to get 100% out of our cars than it is to get 80% out of a GT.

But, it seems everybody is an expert because they have played 100's of hours on GranTourismo with no crash damage simulation.
