Mt Ascutney hill climb, short course

Sorry for the late replys, I'm not on this board much. My late reactionary down shifts where on my fastest runs, heal toeing into a corner killed way to much speed on this course. I found it better to just keep it floored and downshift as nessecary. Except for turn 13... The 2 was a bit doggy to...

Fiesta banned from stock class autox, but not the 2.

I might end up looking at something else for the car if she gets something else and I got more serious with it. I don't think the Corksport Struts will survive much longer under hard use. They started seeping a bit after a Rallycross event that she did, and while they haven't gotten worse I'm...

Fiesta banned from stock class autox, but not the 2.

For Autocross, it is a bit soft. For hillclimb in the northeast, where there are very few hard braking zones and severe frost heaves on a lot of the hills, a little more compliance and droop travel is helpful. The corner I kept coming on two wheels on and had to slow down and take a different...

Mt Ascutney hill climb, short course

Hi Folks! I just did my first hillclimb this past weekend in my Girlfriends autocross car, a STF Mazda2. Long story short, despite it DEFINITELY being a momentum car which I not Quite as used to I figured it out and managed first in class. But I was the only car in U6, so I guess I was last...

Fiesta banned from stock class autox, but not the 2.

The 2 can definitely come up on two wheels fairly easily with sticky enough rubber. I drove my Girlfriends STF Mazda2 at the Mt Ascutney hill climb this past weekend and it was on two wheels fairly often. I had to slow down and find a different line through turn 29 after the inside two came WAY...

    Mazda 2 in the snow?

We run Cheapy snows on the girlfriends Mazda 2 and its an absolute beast in the snow! Even with the stock rubber it wasn't too bad, but the snows really made a HUGE difference.

    H&R and Shocks

I just bought H&R springs and Corksport shocks for my girlfriends Mazda2, I did allot of reading and it seems like a popular combo that works very well. Unfortunately we have not installed them yet as I'm not exactly a fan of working on cars in 10 degree temperatures so I can't exactly give you...

    Review: Corksport Skid Tray

The skid tray is on my list of upgrades. Was thinking the rear torsion bar first, but with the salt and sand in New England during the winter as well as the dirt roads they randomly "comb" i think this is going on first!

    MSP Exhaust

You are incorrect sir, reduced back pressure does not hinder low end torque, at all, ever. Back pressure only robs performance, you can hurt low end by going to big on the exhaust diameter but this is do to reduced exhaust velocity cause by rapid cooling of exhaust gasses in the larger diameter...

    Corksport cat-back installed and operating

I can't believe how good that sounds, my girlfriend thought I was listening to Subaru vids until she saw it was a video of your shop car with your ehaust. I think that may have sold her on it ;). BTW how does it sound on the highway at 75-80? These cars have kind of short gears so my girlfriend...

    Racing beat springs ordered

They will settle a bit, not much of a drop but probably perfect for my girlfriends 2. She has a fondness for dirt roads. Looks like a great choice for a daily driven car that still needs to make it through snow and down city roads.

    exhaust!

58mm is still pretty small, I have a 750cc motorcycle with like 60hp that has a bigger exhaust that that. 58mm is only 2 1/4 inches, it should be apropriate for that motor. Now how bout some sound clips!

    exhaust!

So, what happened to this Corksport exhaust that was supposed to be released last month. Cause that's the one I'm really interested in. Even just some more info or a sound clip would be cool.
