Not sure what truth there is to this, but it's my understanding that those DISI MZRs cut boost way down when anything less than 91 octane is run, and 99% of dealers fill their cars up with regular, so it wouldn't surprise if the one you test drove wasn't quite up to its potential.

Going by process of elmination, I disconnected the solenoid for the boost controller and that's where a tiny leak would cause the boost spike. Time for a different set-up.

hmmm bump for some more input since my wastegate seems to be holding okay.... Maybe tomorrow I'll take the MBC off and see if it still spikes badly.

How's the ATP actuator install going?

I think we'd have a better shot with the Mazdaspeed6 brakes... Aside from the cosmetics of it, though, I think a good set of Hawk or EBC pads and some nicer rotors are more than we need. Bigger brakes don't necessarily mean we'll stop faster.
