Installed Carbon Fiber Hood on my Yellow 3

You may want to pin it at some point. Most CF hoods I've seen flex a bit, both front to back and side to side, sp once you get to 95mph and see the hood try to come up, you'll for sure want to have that thing secured. Enough flex and it may pop the hook loose from the catch. Understand thats...

    Question about antenna!

When it comes to radio reception...size does matter (shady) I've used the OE, a BMW Z3, a custom 3" handmade german one (off e-bay), and for grins I tried a full size black Miata whip. Guess which one worked best...yup...the long goofy one. So in terms of reception ( trying to get a Tucson FM...

    tire width

It's all about the size and shape of the contact patch. Skinny tires and rims are great for fuel economy, but slow everywhere else. In road racing, autocross and most motor sports situations, a fatter tire generally makes for faster course times. We can all believe otherwise, fortunately, the...

Size of turbo for the 3

MY GT28R is on the sissy car....beware the blue Miata. Ricers hate me. Life is good.

Size of turbo for the 3

GT28R is the big ball bearing turbo. Several folks are getting 300-325 out of these in 2 liter applications. I am running wussy levels of boost (12) and still getting 260 on a built 1.8 with full boost at 3100rpm, so they spool real fast, no noticeable lag. Could be run at lower boost levels...

    Balance Shaft Removal Kit

EZ kids... Thats the beauty of the forum folks....I love watching others do the R&D like my friend from up north. 3hp is relatively meaningless, just as 5hp from the Intake proved to be something less than that on his latest foray to the dyno. I remain skeptical of the BSD, and against my...

    0-60 time

Octane makes sense if your car is tuned to use it. Octane alone is not going to ruin anything. If your car flows more air than stock, has a aftermarket exhaust etc, a little more octane will help you avoid an overly lean condition.

Suspension question 5-door owners plz help!

Negative camber in the rear is a very good thing. There is a reason that the 3 posts such good handling numbers. It's because under high cornering loads, the rear tires are very square with the pavement, maximizing total grip. If you take out the negative camber, the rear will slide more and...

    225s too much?...

This issue has been discussed at length on another forum. There are hundreds of us that have run a 225 on the OE rim without a single problem. Autocrossers routinely stick 225's on even narrower rims, Miatas and 230hp SRT4's all favor 225's. No one has ever had a tire pop off the rim. They also...

Will these fit my mazda 3 hatchback

That's $899 for a set of 4 wheels and tires. Should fit if the offset is at least +42mm. The tires are way too short, your speedo will be off by a bunch and your car will be turning too many revs at cruise.

    New Vibrant Performance CatBack system

The pictures are pretty. How much does that bad boy weigh vs. the stock system?

    Exhaust

The 120 times more flow is not possible, make sure you hook me up with whatever you all are smoking, if you believe that one.... Per the manufacturer, the stock exhaust is between 97 and 98% efficient, so all the air goes in, about 98% or more (depending on rpm comes right through). A straight...

    Bug Deflector For Hood...

That would trash your aerodynamics...it's not a mini van or pickup truck, so be kind to the rest of us. If you're worried about paint chips, try some 3M clear film for the leading edges, or a (cough cough) bra.

Will focus brake pads fit my 3?

Your dealer is being an ass. Call another dealer. If that doesn't work, go online and shop the parts at one of the online Mazda dealers....they're a lot cheaper than the locals. Rosenthal Trussville MazdaSouth They all sell discounted OE parts. The rear brakes on the 3 wear fast because the...
