will these rub

im looking at some wheels that are 17X7 42+offset, with 205/45/r17 tire, and will eventually lower it. i read the recipe but does goning with 205/45r17 over a 204/40/r17 make a difference with the rubbing

it will be close, ultimately coming down to tire brand as some are wider at a given rating than others.

if they rub, would it be befroe or after lowering

you wouldn't know till you lowered at that offset probably... but you probably would be ok... and if you do start to rub then just roll your fender a little.
