What have you done to your Miata today?

thanks Kevin :) And nice find. I'm jealous. seriously. I should give you my shopping list :p

Had a wheel alignment done and had the rockblocker on the mirrors replaced. And did the 1st oil change.

In addition to the new poly bushings, higher spring rates, fixing the engine to hood rubbage (stupid move on my part), and other random maintenance stuff, I swapped the rear subframe for an updated part with added bracing. The diff will go back in once the MazdaComp bushings arrive.

EDIT: Terribly large, terrible pics. Consider yourself warned, heh.

replacing a valve stem CAP made it drive better!? Now that's a new one...

It does when they look like my new valve stem caps:

Heres the How To:
1) Determine whether or not you have a 1.8 or 1.6 engine in your Miata.
2) Determine whether or not you have a turbo.
3) Go to the bank and withdraw $12.
4) Travel down to the VW dealer.
5) Talk to someone in the parts department.
6) Order the "1.8T" valve stem caps.
7) Wait for the phone call.
8) Go to dealership and pick up the valve stem caps.
9) Drive home.
10) Remove the current valve stems. Make sure to do this one at a time.
11) Check tire pressure.
12) Install "1.8T" valve stem caps with 10 hand pounds of pressure.
13) Take car for a quick ride to check balance and show off your new bling.

lol d'oh! My sarcasmometer must have been malfunctioning! (second)

Going for a project miata and putting a custom magnaflow catback on it. Since i want the same setup as the one on the picture, i need to know what's the round/oval/length sizes of the center resonator (which is actually a muffler) and rear muffler.

Options on resonator: from 4'' round through 7'' round
Options on muffler: 4'' x 9'' , & 5'' x 8''

The pipes will be 2.25 (optimal performance by magnaflow to gain hp/tq)

Magnaflow guys say that with this cat-back the miata will gain 8hp/10tq

thx! :D

do me a favor: before / after dyno sessions with the only change being the cat-back. Same day preferably. I have some serious doubts about that claim.

Long time, no post.
As a reminder, here's what the car presently looks like:

Updated interior (notice the relocated turbo timer/gauges, pocket & Decepticon knob):

Up for installation as soon as it clears customs:

Short shifter
Side panel stripe graphics (non-ricer)
Should be looking really good by the Spring/Summer time frame.

Got to drive my car with the top down finally from work today. I can hardly wait till spring

That first top down drive's always a treat!

On a related note, I finally got the rest of the control arms back on the car. She's finally starting to look more like a car and not some pile of random parts on my garage floor!

it looks sweet on orange! btw is the cat-back on the pic the one you have on the car?

Thanks pal.

Negative on the cat-back...right now, it's just dumping after the down pipe.
The cat back is stuck in Turkish customs.

if you want to hear what the car sounds like presently.

Got the rest of the suspension tightened and bolted together. On Friday night, I'll be setting the final ride height on the coilover sleeves

I just ordered a shiney new set of Kumho V710's. Damn, that burns the pocket.
