I put a deposit down on a 6sp i touring and I'm wondering what everyone's experience has been with the mt. Strange thing I noticed when putting it in reverse on a lengthy test drive on an incline (towards the back end) that rev matching was not quite like I remember in my Audi's, Hondas, etc. it rolled forward quite a bit before I had to reapply the brakes and reengage. I know I depressed it into rev and firmly forward. This was strange to me. No grind of course. Any problems with time? I noticed a few issues with '12 and '13 6sp mazda3's that had 3rd gear popping out as well as some multilple tranny replacements. Just wanna know what I'm looking at before P&S. Is the 6 tranny the same as in the 3? I know it's been around since late '11, correct?
Other than those questions the tranny is pretty slick, clutch is nice, and the throw is short. Melikey. Not too many midsized sedans with mt anymore so I'm glad I found this one. Blue relex on black with several extras, no tech.
