Things you noticed about your Mazda 5

I do a lot of mountain driving (you pretty much have to climb and/or descend a mountain pass to go anywhere outside of the valley), and I've found I actually like the manumatic shifter. It's pretty smart, if you want engine braking, all you have to do is move it to Manual and it'll automatically drop into 4 without having to shift. Conversely, if you're on a flat highway/steady speed, and you pop it into M, it stays in 5th.

Couldn't talk the wife into a full manual version though.

Parking brake warning on dash could be more prominent. I wish the car had auto locking doors once up to a certain speed. Cabin filter could do better with odors.

agree. Auto lock would be nice.

My last car beeps when handbrake was not fully disengaged. Mazda5 doesn't.

Speaking of, I wish that the few programmable features these cars have were user programmable, not dealer programmable. re: I hate auto locking. There is some stuff you can fiddle with, by you; I mean you can have the dealer fiddle with.
