Starting off from dead stop on steep hills in MazdaSpeed3 - technique question

I use the same technique as you and live in Queens, lots of traffic, works fine for me.

O and one thing i do when coming to a stop on a hill. when the person behind you is coming to a stop, let off the brake and roll back a bit. 90% of the time they realize you have a clutch n give you some extra room.

I hit this one hill off of hotel street in Quebec City it was the steepest mother I have seen in my 11 years of driving. Definitely a little rubbing of the clutch that day. (notcool)

But yeah the clutch slip technique is great for moderate hills. A buddy has a Fiero with the original clutch and a 2000 Jetta with the original, still work like new, and he uses that technique.
