I recently bought my 2014 CX5 GT with Tech, does the trunk lock button only lock the doors or can they open all the doors also?

on my car when i walk up to my car i always goto the trunk first to put stuff in but when i push the door lock button it does not open all doors, i would have to walk to the driver side and push that button in order to let other people in.

check the manual... the trunk button will only open the trunk. the door button will open driver door with one press, and all doors with two presses.

im talking about the button to the right of the trunk button which only locks all the doors for me

From what I could find in manual: (regarding request switch on liftgate)

"All doors and the liftgate can be locked/
unlocked by pressing the request switch
on the front doors while the key is being
carried.
The request switch on the liftgate can only
be used to lock all doors and the liftgate."

o okay thanks for the info, i wonder why its only lock all doors only and not work the same as the driver/passenger request switch

Short answer: Safety and security reasons probably.
