Put Mazda6 in maintenance mode, changed pads/rotors and now can't get it out?

Put the car in Maintenance mode changed the pads/rotors and now can't get it out? any ideas would be great. the car will not start.

2016 Mazda Sport

We hit the start button twice. Held the parking switch up while pressing the accelerator and hit the start three more time. We hear the motor run the lights go out but when I go to start the car all the lights come back on and and we hear the motor run again

After successfully taking it out of maintenance mode, try immediately disconnecting the battery and leaving it that way overnight.

We tried that (not overnight) and the battery died. According to a Mazda Mechanic I talked to he said that it is probably throwing an ABS code. If we scan it and clear it it will shut off maintenance mode and the car will start. Now we are charging the battery.
