I'm young, so that's all I have to share so far. :)

traded in my 1997 bmw 540i 6 speed last week for a 2002 p5 5 speed with 80,000 miles. loved the bmw but maintenance and repair is very expensive.... had it for a year and spent $ 7,000 on maintenance and repairs..... will never own another bmw unless its brand new with warranty.

The first car I owned at 18 was a 1995 Grand Am GT V6. Bought with about 90,000 miles on it, transmission slowly gave and finally exploded with about 120,000. Drove my mom s Saturn Sc2 around until I nabbed a 1997 Grand Am GT 5 speed (rarer as the years went up) for $2100 with 140,000 miles on it. Ran that for 3 years and 50,000 miles later, it slowly started needing new parts and tires.

Finally gave up, sold that for $500 (great investment) and got my 2003 P5 with 65,000 back in January for $8500. Wasn't looking at them at all then a friend of the family who happens to be a dealer caught this at an auction and new I needed a new car and gave me a call. And here we are today...

I traded in a 1999 Honda Civic SI for the MP5, I even lett ALL of the mods go with it. I had a previous MP5, but it was through my sister, I had co-signed on a loan for her (hand) I had to take it from her because she stopped making payments and make payments on it and the SI, ouch! But having that car for a short period made me want to get another.

I had a BMW 528i, '99. Some dink ina chevy truck pulling a trailer decided to turn left across my path at a blind intersection, and totalled my baby! So... To get myself out of debt I took the $16250 and still had enough to buy my '02 P5. It was nice to be able to drive a five series for 8 months for $750, gas and a $100 oil change.

'02 Explorer with 99,450 miles, it started to show the age. The BMW (to keep with a theme) dealer was selling the '03 P5 with 45K for $9500, got it down to $8000.
I do miss the Explorer though.

before the P5...

91 civic DX Sedan (Engine died. POS. 4 cyl civs are slow enough, imagine a 3 cyl!)
91 Lumina Z34 (was actually a pretty nice car... still regret selling it)
88 RX-7 TII (Sold. Regret that)
87 Toyota PU (Bought for $100, sold for $700. Awesome little truck... if i could fit in it)
92 civic DX hatch (got 3 feet shorter after the idiot texting hit me so hard he messed up the bimmer in front of me
88 RX-7 GXL (Parted out)
90-something Isuzu pickup (sold)
93 Pathfinder (donated)

I also sold a 2000 Suzuki DR650 and am concurrently riding an SV1000

I'll share mine:
92 Camry: Loved this car, slow and ugly. Trade in for Civic
99 Civic EX auto: Loved this car too. It was slow and small. Bank took it back
98 Prelude auto: Heavy ass. Bank took it back
98 Forester: Oil pump maintenance mistake after only having it for 4 months used. Died
98 Caravan: Had loads of room, but sucked on gas. Tranny died
98 Audi A4: What can I say, cost a lot to repair parts at this age (the car, not me). Still have it
04 STI: Fast, bumpy, fast, heavy, fast, bigger than it looks, fast, Attracts unwanted attention, fast, sucks on gas, expensive to maintain, and did I mention fast? Bank took it back.

Out of all these cars, I love the slow ones best, the Civic and Protege5! Don't care much about speed as long as it can haul (P5) and handle well.

A 1996 Jeep Cherokee. Sold it with about 128,000 on the odo. The Inline 6 was bulletproof and extremely easy to work on. Still wish I had it but I upgraded to the P5 when I needed better than the 10 mpg (no joke) that the jeep got.(lol2)

1989 Chevy Blazer S10 (Traded)
