Own a Mazda MX-6? Post Your Pics!

Latest pics of mine, a few little tweaks here and there to improve performance. She's running around the 215-220 mark now and lot's more to do.

Will be doing the suspension and brakes as soon as I can afford it.

Swapped the blue lighting for all red, as I'm going for ared/silver theme throughout. Used a combination of 3 different types of LED bulb to get the best light spread and swapped out the dash warning lamp bulbs too, so everything lights up red including indicators, fuel, ABS, 4WS and fog lamps.

New 16" wheels, bought them for 30 which included tyres, 2 of which were nearly new 1 has about legal 3mm tread left and one was replaced. Not my first choice of wheel, but the price was good and they are a lighter than the 15" stock ones, which is important for me as I also use this car to go around the Nurburgring in Germany when I can. :)

The bad news is that my black one is now being broken... It just reached a point where I could no longer afford to keep two of them and work on both. So the black one with all the mazdaspeed body kit parts is being stripped down... the mazdaspeed kit will be resprayed and fitted to the jspec at some point along with a few other choice parts.

It does mean I have a few jspec MX6 parts for sale...

Hey guys...MX6 noob here...
I just picked up a 93 MX6 (for free) and it has a busted drivers lock (looks like it missing the metal 'clip' that holds it in the key hole), the key does not fit in the ignition (need info on how to uninstall that because i think a key is broke off in there or something...i say this, because before i managed to lock the steering wheel up *stupid me* I fit 1/4 of the key in there and it turned...wtf?).
it originally didn't have keys, so i went to Mazda and got 2 made...they fit the doors and trunk, yet only the trunk won't turn, doors operate fine. Also, in which order do the spark plug wires run.

And here she is...Project Black Beauty (as my wife calls it).
I just call it Project Black Asshole...

So far we've cleaned the exterior/interior...vacuum'd etc. Just need help on this key/door lock/ignition problem...and plugs lol.

No, I did have to remove the green discs for the indicators though as the green filters out the red. But it works fine on the dials themselves as I don't think the ones built in japan had the same sort of green paint applied to them, the bulbs had green gel caps.

I also removed the green filter for the light above the ingnition and replaced that with red, along with the indicators, I used some tape and tinting spray on the back of the face plate to obscure the bulbs.

I also replaced the amber warning lamps with red leds, so everything on the dash apart from the high beam light is red, including ABS, Fuel, Fog lights and rear demister.

u espec guys are lucky u get most of the cool parts, i tried to change the bulbs to red on my cluster but i didnt realize there was a green film now they look red-orange

It is sitting in garage like a paper weight ATM.
Stripped the interior and cleaned everything thoroughly. Just need to get the locks replaced and get some plug/wires drain & refill the fluids to see if we can get it to start...lol.

We are going to finish getting our new furniture purchased for our house before we start pumping $ into this bad boy.

Also...the more and more I think about it...the more and more I want to do a crazy V8 swap...lol...
It would be so vicious!!!

Ok am new here so ill just start off by saying HI. My name is Sean and I own a 97 Mx6 Ls with a KLZE swap most of the bolt ons and tuned with the MsN v3 megasquirt system. Last dyno made 201whp 186wtq. My friends and I threw this car together to get a 13sec all motor KL with out the use of weight reduction or slicks. We managed to get a 13.7 with a basic street tune and now that the car is dyno tune am hitting the track this summer. Some details about the car are on my CarDomain page here

I also race my 96 Ford Probe GT with a t3t4 turbo set up and one of my race vids is in my sig along with the mx6 13.7 pass. The Mx6 is getting a new shell thats in much better shape and I may do some weight reduction. Ill keep you posted
