OEM Sirius Module in 2012: Anyone know where it is?

Does anyone know where the Sirius receiver module is that comes in the 2012 CX-9 with the Bose (w/o NAV) system? I'm hoping I can use that receiver and, of course, it's built in antenna and connect it to my Kenwood aftermarket head unit instead of installing my separate XM Radio unit.

I'm not sure it will work, but if I could at least tap into the antenna, that would help me alot.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Found the OEM SIRUS module. Pics here on using the antenna lead for aftermarket HU

Found it.

It's to the right of the luggage box.

The wiring is proprietary so I'm not going to try to use the OEM Sat Radio with my Kenwood deck. I am going to use the OEM Sat antenna though. I have to extend the cable up to the dash to use it so I ordered this extension cable.

In order to use this however, I will have to remove the antenna connector that's on the end of the OEM antenna lead. I've attached some pics to show what I mean or in case anyone else wants to do this.

The antenna lead is plugged into the module with this brownish connector. http://www.flickr.com/photos/70825997@N05/6409774493/

In order to use an extension cable (I need to extend this antenna lead up to the dash to plug into my aftermarket setup), I need to remove that plastic connector. The antenna end is locked into the harness by the white locking clip. Remove that by inserting a small screwdriver between the locking clip and the harness and gently pry the clip out. It will release pretty easily as you pry on the screwdriver. http://www.flickr.com/photos/70825997@N05/6409774591/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/70825997@N05/6409774691/

Once released, remove the white locking clip and then gently pull the antenna lead out of the harness. This end is standard and should plug directly into an extension cable so you can use the OEM antenna on the roof with your aftermarket Sat radio. http://www.flickr.com/photos/70825997@N05/6409774793/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/70825997@N05/6409774857/

I will post more here if there are any problems with the extension lead.

Mightymavkev,

I assume the extension lead plugged into the now housingless OEM antenna end. Correct? I am planning to do this as well. Thanks!
