ok now i know this may sound dumb but i know little next to nothing of the mazdaspeed line for 8's so does anyone know what the upgrades were for this version and is semi-rare like the msproteges?

it was a very limited run only in japan but all parts are available at any dealer. the suspension package is suppsoed to be top notch
Renesis- Just to straighten everything out- There *is* a Mazdaspeed RX-8 but ONLY in Japan. The Mazdaspeed RX8 includes a PCM tune, Struts, Springs, Sway bars, Strut Tower Brace, Fully body-kit, exhaust, flywheel and wheels. They are produced in limited quantity in Japan.
The most that people can do else where is buy the parts from the Mazdaspeed catalogue.

i went to a dealership i think last year sometime and he showed me this special edition 8 i fell in love with it..with these smoked gun metal rx8 wheels and the stock navi system (well at least i thought it was a navi system) that came out the dashboard.
after the testdrive he saw what i drove onto the lot with and he was like yea they are making a ms6 but u look like u would want to wait for the ms8. Ever since then i have been waiting and preparing to buy a ms8 and now i find that its jap only and i would have to buy an 8 then buy its parts!
i think ill just wait for the new rx7 whenever that gets released...but then again i love the 8 too much

Mazda made 2 versions of the Mazdaspeed RX8, both were limited production versions.
They include :
Air Filter
Plugs/Wires
Short Shifter
Cat-Back
Suspension
Body Kit
Wheels
Brake Pads
Gauges
Body Stiffening
Seats
New ECU Map
Extra center bearing in the motor (for more reliability in race conditions)
Extra oil cooler (we already get the 2nd oil cooler in the states on the 6port (6speed) version
So its not just a body kit, the center housing in the motor, and the ecu is differnt....
The car makes about 10hp/10tq more than the stock version, but most of the mods are suspension/body tuning.
The car is around 15 secs faster on laps at suzuka than the stock 'type S' (GT package in the states) version

they wouldnt bring it to the states cause people in america want POWER, esp more TQ......the MS8 is all about handling and response, the same thing I want from the car.....
If they ever made an MS in the states, 99% chance it will be a supercharged renesis, with a lower redline, and geared for more low end TQ....the exact opposite reason I bought this car...
I want high revs, and top end power, with instant response and awsome handling.

its the same reason all the WRX's and STI's subaru brings over are lower boost and more stroke, 2.5L vs 2.0L
im suprised they didnt put a 2.2L or something in the evo...stroke it out....
There is an RX8 here that has the MS body kit on it, looks great IMO. There is no official MazdaSpeed RX-8 but definately lots of parts available for it from MazdaSpeed. I'd like to see a MazdaSpeed RX-8 come out straight from Mazda itself. It would probably be very limited production, but would be cool to see.

ok can someone please explian stroke....cuz last thing i said was torque and porn and now all i see is stroke....

stroke is usualy a term used with piston motors, its the distance the piston travels up/down.
longer stroke mean more TQ, it also increases displacement.
You will see a lot of 'stoker kits' for piston cars, its usualy a new crank/rods and pistons, sometimes the bore (size of the cyl) is increased along with stroke.
