Last week, I had the opportunity to participate in the Mecum Auto Auction. Great time driving some cars I'd otherwise never be able to. Here are the pics I took:

WHOA!!!
I'm lovin' the old iron.
I've always been a 57 Chev man and even used to own one (my first car,) but that 55 is pretty cool. It has BelAir trim doen the sides (none on the roof line,) but believe it started out in life as a 6 cyl 210 series car.
The 56-57 Vette is a keeper too. Always loved the single headlight/toothpick grille bodystyle.
Love the flathead '50 Ford Convert. My older bro had one when I was just about 5yrs old.
And I was not aware that any Chevy trucks from the early '70's survived!! They used such cheap, bad sheet metal that I thought they had just rusted completely away... as a group!!

For a short time I used to go to a dealer only auction here. He'd get me in and I would drive (when possible) and shake down the prospects for him. Got a good deal on my own car that way too.
