Okay, so it's been about 10 years since I last bought a car so I am very rusty. Does anyone else get the feeling they are being ripped off regardless of the price negotiated?
I am looking at getting a Grand Touring model. I've gotten a few quotes of around $21K. After you add the taxes, tag, freight & destination it totals about like $22500 which doesn't make it such a great deal.
General thoughts? Am I hoping for too much wiggle room?

They are getting pretty darn scarce in So-Cal, every dealer I spoke with said they were getting several calls about the 5's. Sort of takes some steam out of your bargaining power. I can count on one hand how many silver GT's are left in this entire area.
...and you got to love the 1700.00 worth of California sales tax. Still not as bad as the Canadian's though eh?
As the price of gas goes up, a 25-30 MPG 6-seater gets more and more attractive. I get lots of attention from big-SUV parents wanting to ditch their gas hog for something like this.
Great buy I say, although I do think the price is a little steep for a new Mazda5. That's SoCal for ya.
i see people asking what is the good price for new mazda 5..
