It was an accurate article. The CX5 punches above it's weight. I don't think the CX5 was designed to beat Honda or Toyota at all. It was designed to be the smart alternative to buying a small luxury CUV. I'm seeing them pop all over LA lately. The CX5 is the smart buy, and it's absolutely fast enough. If you want a 2.3 second 0-60 race car, go buy a Dodge Demon. If you want a luxury like car with all the bells and whistles with nearly zero compromises that stands out in a crowded supermarket parking lot, get a Mazda.
