2007 Mazda 3 Hatch
Hey everyone,
I've had my Mazda 3 ever since 2006 (the car is a year 2007) and I was never interested in getting any mods to it until now. I love my car now at a point when i really should be just tired of it haha. I recently got it tinted and purchased new rims for it, i also installed the eonon system inside(its AWESOME). Now I'm thinking about lowering the car however I want to know my options and I need help! I am considering getting an eibach prokit. I want to lower my car enough to not worry about getting a camber kit or anything else like that but also still have that nice aggressive look. Would that even be possible and safe for the car? Or would I have to eventually buy the springs as well? whats the better option for me? I know coilovers are the best option but I dont have the money for that right now. Also if i do just get the pro kit? would i haveeee to buy springs later on or what happens if i just leave it at that, just pro kit. I will take some pictures of my car soon and post it on here. any info would be greatly appreciated.

I would say since you've waited this long to do any mods to it you can wait a little longer and get Coilovers. Might as well just save for what will be best on your car.
Just giving my two cents.

appreciate it macabe. honestly i have just started learning about lowering cars and im still not even 100% on most of the terms. but anyway what are some good companies that provide coilovers? and how much do they lower the car?

Umm ksport, bc, yellow speed, d2 there are a lot of great companies out there. I'm planning on going with bc Coilovers myself. Usually they can drop anywhere between 1-3" but you can order shorter springs with a higher spring rate (spring rate is how much weight it takes to compress the springs, higher the spring rate the stiffer the spring) so essentially you can lower your car to about an inch off the ground. You'll need to take in to consideration how wide the wheels are and camber. Just do some reading online about all that stuff while you save up for your suspension and you'll be a lot more educated by the time you purchase them.

Also you can go with a good set of lowering springs but its totally up to you. Coilovers give you the otion to raise your car aswell as drop it. My buddy put a set of tein springs on his 05 mazda3 and it looks amazing. I'd also recommend some rally armor mud flaps to add that extra jaw dropping factor.

awesome! oh i forgot to mention i dont want it to be ricey looking or that flushed or stanced look? just want to keep it simple but nice. im looking for probably a 1.5" drop. definately not 3". thanks though i now have an idea of what im looking to do.

Look into a set of H&R, Tien, or Road Magnet lowering springs. They are great quality and have a decent comfort for a daily driver, paired with a good set of shocks and struts to dampen the bumps. You can usually get some used, or buy a new set without breaking the bank. You will need Rear camber arms as when lowering, you change the suspension geometry and will need an alignment to correct this. As Macabe stated, use the search option and read about it and educate yourself. More knowledge is always a benefit when modding your car and understanding all the reasons behind why some things are beneficial.

Getting my BC's put on tomorrow, but I agree with what was said above, if you're patient just wait till you got the extra cash for coilovers and do it up right, I did a lot of research and the BC's really stuck out at me and had no bad reviews. And CR3 gave me the best deal, got em under a grand! Cant wait to see how the car looks when it's done :)

so i got my wheels but didnt want to put on my center caps yet because i wanted to put the mazda logo on them.

cut the tips and sanded down to make it all flat. (so i can glue later on)

bought spray paint for plastics at home depot for the center caps in FLAT BLACK
gave it three coats. had to wait 1 day after each coat just to be cautious. cleaned up the mazda emblems from the old center caps of the snowflake wheels i had. glued on the emblems to the caps. each fit perfect with some industrial glue. let that cure for a whole day and then i finally installed the caps on my wheels. LOOKs soo much better. i drove to san diego right after.
