Homelink question?

:
2019 CX5 Reserve AWD
Anybody know what the difference is between Homelink Type A and Type B.

Can't find anything in the manual that differentiates the two.

I would assume Type A is the older rocker switch kind where you set a 6 or 8 switch code and Type B is the kind where the code changes on the fly but I'm not sure.

Although I simply followed what was in the owner's manual to the letter and it worked. I did have to go into my garage, unplug the opener while I was training it. Also near the end I had to press the 'training' button on the Chamberlain(after plugging back in) and complete the process back in the car(within 30 seconds). It helps if you have a 2nd person and a driveway.

Thanks, I'll try again tomorrow. I'll go through the video on the homelink site. You can plug you car make/model/year then you opener brand and it should walk you through it.

I had to press the Training button on my Overhead Door doors...all 3 of them. I believe the manual says you "may have to." That immediately linked them to my CX-5.

I did not have to unplug them.
