just know that you'll only be changing about half, maybe a little less, of the fluid. So you'll still have at least 50% of the old fluid in there. You really need to drain and fill it 3 times (12 quarts should do it) to get most of the old fluid out. If you drop the pan on the 3rd drain you'll get about an extra quart out. By my calculations, that will get you to about 90% fresh fluid. Space the drain/fills out about 1-2 weeks apart, with normal driving in between each drain/fill.

All my four Mazdas are on 30k interval for ATF drain-n-refill.
5k interval for oil change.
