Someone out there must have done this before but my initial investigations have proven fruitless! My situation is this:
1. I relocated temporarily from the UK to Canada.
2. I brought my Thule EuroClassic G6 4 bike rear rack with me - it is a 2" ball mount with 13-pin Euro plug on it.
3. I bought a 2015 Mazda CX-9 GT (towing upgrade fitted, but no receiver or electrics).
4. I have bought and fitted a Class III receiver.
5. I want to buy and fit a European spec (i.e. 13 pin) wiring harness to my Canadian CX-9 GT to utilise the full lighting capability of the bike rack rather than the standard 4-flat type that will not prove of much use (or will it?).
Can anyone tell me if there are:
a. Any reasons I can't do this due to any subtle differences in wiring/specs between European and Canadian models of the CX-9?
b. Any leads on where to source the wiring harness here in, or at least from, Canada?
c. Failing all else whether there are any work-arounds using the 4-flat connector that I can do to provide at least some safety functionality with the lighting on the bike rack?
