CX-5 Radio Shut Off?

I was sitting in the car listening to the radio without the engine running and after maybe fifteen minutes it shut off. I suppose the idea is to not run the battery down. Is that true?

How did you manage to keep the radio on with the engine off?

Did you hold the shifter button in while shutting down the engine?

No I just pressed the start button without my foot on the brake. The light on the button is orange.

Like I said, if you shut the car off while holding in the shifter button, the infotainment system stays powered for 15 mins or so.

If you'd like it to never shut off, till the battery goes dead at least, leave the shifter in something other than park while turning the car off.
