Thanks for the extra info. I was having some issues with older USB sticks for transferring RockBand files to my PS3, so I bought a few 32GB 3.0 sticks to use in the car as well. At least that way i can get the full use of the 128GB for other things. One of my sticks in the car is an 8GB 2.0 and it will still not reliably autoresume from that one and will also start playing some random song if the car has been off and the USB has not been the source.
I do not think the issue has anything to do with using USB 3.0 sticks. They should work fine even if plugged into a USB 1.1 port
