Can i get away with this

I have 35 series on my 18" x 7.5" wheels and I'm lowered just about 2.25" inches all around. I'm about as far as you can push it without getting rub.

I'm almost positive that on a Protege, a 35 series tire is pretty much a must on wheels that are 8" wide -- that is, if you want to lower and don't want to have rub or roll your fenders.

what's the offset of your wheels, and what size tires are you rolling on?

225/35/18 ??

Did some calculations :

215/35= 2.961" in height
215/40= 3.384" in height

225/35= 3.101" in height
225/40= 3.5" in height

+45 offset, 215/35/18 tires. But the tires I have are more 'meaty' and aggressive when compared to the normal 35 series tire, hence the 215 versus 225. I didn't want to chance any rub.

with the rx8 rims should i stick with a 215 or can i go 225? im going to get the pirada spec II's by yokohama
I'm pretty sure you kinda need to go with 225 .. since the RX-8 rims are 8" wide, aren't they? Cause I have 215 on my wheels that are 7.5" wide.

OOO thanks for that..... cause there's some wheels I want and the offset is +45 and the wheel is 18x7.5

so I'm kinda trying to figure out wth I can go with to not rub since I plan to lower my speed6 as well.... and I don't want to have to resort to fender rolling.

i'm selling my stock rx8 rims, i'm talking to ghost about them, he has dibs if he wants them, but if not...(thumb)
