I am trying to determine what transmission is in my circle track race car. I purchased the car from a guy who didn't exactly know what year the car is and all the vin/model type stampings are long since gone.
We think its a 1991 Mazda Protege DX. It is a SOHC motor with a 5 Speed transmission.. the trans has a stamp on it "F520", but I can't find that transmission ID code.
We are trying to determine what the gear ratios are (gears and final drive) so we can start calculating tire size choice to keep car in HP/Torque power band..
Since this is a SOHC car, and we think a 1991, that makes the motor B8-ME, at least that is what we think.
Any help ?
