Apparently the ring doesn't necessarily fall but you're supposed to jam something in there to keep it from falling,...

It may be something else but I'd look into that first.

I think I may have read somebody managed to fish it back into place with something but I'm not sure about that.

Ok..all is well for CV axles...I do have a question...if the passenger cv axle was broken would it affect the wheel bearings?

I would think the heavy vibration would stress the bearings.

You're supposed to tell us what was wrong ya no,... and how ya fixed it ???

I replaced both left & right cv axles..the passenger side was the one with cracked axle..wow..ride id different but have little bounce and road noise on that same side...gets louder as I speed up. Drive great though no vibration or shakiness.
The ring was stuck to the medal of the car not on the axle...re-installed and it was fixed.
I'm gona replace right wheel bearing and see that helps.
