2019 CX-5 Rear camera rain water issue

I had a 2016 and now have a 2019 and have noticed that the 16 rarely, if ever got wet when it rained and the 19 almost always has water when it rains obscuring the view. Anyone else have this problem and or has a fix for it?

I had a '13 that was pretty useless in any kind of wet weather. I'm waiting to see if my wife's '23 is any better.

You could try constructing a drip shield, maybe. But I'm not sure if the water gathers from above, or from road spray from below?

I've noticed wet, obscured camera lens when I go to back out after the car has sat in the rain. I keep forgetting to give the lens a habitual wipe before getting in the car.

second that. "wax" it with the most water repellent chemistry you can find
or look for one with a washer. Some Mazda models (not in US) come with it.

Turtle wax ceramic spray wax is rated for plastics and works great as a water repellent. My gripe with the rear camera is not water obscuring the view, but direct sunlight sometimes causing the image to wash out.
