Sorting Brake Questions

Hi,

I'm trying to find out compatibility of brake pads through the years for second generation FCs.

The fronts are pretty straight forward. Either you do or don't have 4 pot calipers seems to be the only question. The rears though, I'm not sure about. Is the shape of the pads different from solid to vented disks? If not, is the thickness different? Why do some vendors say their rear pads will fit every second generation car while some others speculate their pads are for vented or non-vented rotors only?

the OG's in my area told me that the FC rears are only different from 4-5 lug. the fronts are only different, as you said, from 4 pot or not. that is coming from guys who have more FC experience than i do. i never had to do brakes on mine, so i couldn't tell you 100%
