"Mazda5 to be phased out for U.S. in 2015." - Automotive News

I was just at Liberty Mazda in Hartford and they had 2015 Mazda5 brochures. So it will solder on in 2015 as the last model year.

    Leaving the Mazda5 fam

Well guys, after 3.5 years and 60K miles, we traded our 09 Grand Touring for a 12 Honda Pilot EX-L with Nav. The 5 was real good to us, just normal maintenance, i.e. oil changes, air/cabin filters, transmission fluid changes, rear shocks, brakes, upper belt pulley, motor mount, two sets of...

Rear O2 sensor up for grabs

Hold on to it, sometimes they go in pairs.

    How many miles / km's on your 5 ?

Just turned 90K on our '09 Still on original front suspension and components. I did change the rear shocks @ 50K. After this winter and the curb/pothole beatings my 5 has endured, I may tackle the front end.

Slight metalic rattle when accelerating under load

I'm beginning to think the sound is normal. I've had it since day one (42K miles) and now at 89K, it still does it. Doesn't effect anything, I think, so I'll live with it.

Slight metalic rattle when accelerating under load

Mine still does this. Figured it was the splash shield but it wasn't. Seems to happen more when the temps drop. I'm baffled.

    Mazda5 AT fluid flush

Anyone try Valvoline Max Life? I think that's what I'll be using here on out.

Now at 86K, what to do?

Good stuff thanks! I know the PO had the power steering recall done, so the fluid was pretty new when I got it. But that is an easy fluid to replace. I only wish the exterior was holding up. The front is sand blasted and I scraped the front left bumper and side skirt navigating a tight...

Now at 86K, what to do?

So my '09 just turned over 86K and I'm wondering what I need to do maintance wise. Since the inital purchase in 2011 w/ 45K miles, I've: Dropped and filled the AT fluid three times Replaced rear shocks New brakes Two in cabin filter changes Two air filter changes New plugs this past Feb One...

    2010 Mazda 5 vs 2012 Mazda 5 interior

The shift bezel is the exact same. Actually I didn't like the silver finish (scratched too easily) of my '09s and swapped for a '12 shift bezel.

How many miles have you logged so far? Who has the most?

I plugged >100K in Cars.com and there are a ton of 130-150K miles AT Mazda5s that look new.

64K mile update - a couple of issues

I did just a basic drop and fill 3 times driving a little in between each fill. Next time I'll drop the pan and replace the filter.

64K mile update - a couple of issues

Just passed 64K miles. So far, been to NYC a couple of times, and next month we'll be taking a trip to MD/DC. Here she is doing family duty in RI last week: We had the windshield replaced last month after a stone chip cracked it. I noticed a popping noise coming from the base of the...

Can the quarter panel be removed?

I too want to know. I have a small crease right on the "rounded" corner and I'd like to PDR it. But I'm wondering what's behind there before I start tearing off interior panels.

    Added Homelink

Just enough for the buttons to clear and the LED lamp. If I had to guess, 1"X2.5" or so. The oval piece pops off and is held in place by two pegs on either side. So you put the unit in the headliner and push the oval face with the buttons onto the unit through the hole. Again, I'm sure...

    Added Homelink

The unit has two wires, power and ground. Just use a test lamp for a constant hot wire, in this case it was the red wire going to the map lamps. Then I ground it to the body using the existing screw hole in the center of the roof frame. The roof material is a bit thicker than what it is...
