WTB: Mz3 front struts, possibly MS3 springs too

I have a brand new set of Bilstein HD stuts and shocks for sale, asking $625 shipped. These have never been mounted on the car. I have Koni FSD dampers on the car, and decided not to change to the Bilstein units. According to Shox.com. they can be used with lowering springs up to a 1.5" drop...

F/S Brand new, never mounted complete set front and Rear Bilstein HD's

One complete set of front and rear Bilstein HD shocks and struts. These have never been mounted and are brand new. The rear shocks are the updated part number. I have decided to keep my Koni FSD shocks/struts, instead of putting these on. Have to see the craftsmanship and build quality...

    Why do I clunk?

Did you put the rubber spring seat back in? In your other post you mention you didn't put them in. This could be the noise...

    Question about springs? Help

Yes, you need to put it back in. It is needed to make sure the spring seats properly on the strut body, and does not move around. I would think it would also make a lot of noise.

2000 and earlier Proteges need new end links to work with Tokico HP's

Let me know how it turns out tomorrow. I am only going to put the Tokico's on my 02 Protege. I'm pairing them up with Racing Beat springs. Hopefully the ride won't be too much stiffer than stock, PA roads are terrible.

2000 and earlier Proteges need new end links to work with Tokico HP's

-ounkny, 1) Yes, the FRONT Tokico HP has the mounting bracket mounted at the same place, and going in the same direction as the OEM front strut on my 2002 Protege ES Sedan.(Pointing up) This differs from the placement on the OEM strut on my 2000 Protege LX. The 2000 has the tab mounted 3"...

2000 and earlier Proteges need new end links to work with Tokico HP's

You definately need the end links from the 01-03 Protege on the front. Mazda Parts south will sell them for $19.50 each plus shipping. There is almost a 3" difference in where the sway bar bracket is mounted. On the Tokico HP's, it is mounted right below the bottom spring perch on the strut...

2000 and earlier Proteges need new end links to work with Tokico HP's

I had ordered Racing Beat springs and Tokico HP's to put onto my '02 Protege ES. I have a friend that works on VW's in his shop, so we played around with my 2000 Protege LX to see how the suspension combo would look on it. Found out the bracket for the endlink has been moved upward on the strut...

    Cut the Bumpstops or not?

Thanks for the welcome. I've followed the Pens since about '88 or so...although they are sucking wind this year. I guess you could say they're a bunch of jagoffs this year. Now everyone who isn't from the Burgh will wonder what the hell I'm talking about. Actually, his post was what triggered...

    Cut the Bumpstops or not?

Just received the Racing Beat Springs and Tokico HP shocks/struts. Should I cut the bumpstops? Racing Beat's website shows a 3/4" drop in the front, and a little more in the rear. I called Racing Beat, and after two of them discussed it, they suggested I trim about 3/4" off, but they didn't...

Questions about end links and things

1st post on this board, but have been lurking for a while now... I have a 2002 Protege ES, and have just ordered Racing Beat springs and Tokico HP shocks/struts. With this mild drop, will I have to be concerned with new end links, or will the stock ones work fine? (Assuming I can get them...
