I think I may give the dynamat a try. It's becoming clear that a trade / sell might be hard to pull off, as most folks cannot do without an exhaust for the time required to exchange systems. I'm just wondering what kind of SPL reduction I can get with the dynamat. Anyone have a guess?

Well, because I bought the car used, and it came on the car. Thus, I don't have the stock exhaust system. If I did, I wouldn't be seeking to trade it. Duh!

I guess I'm going to trade it for a stock axle back system. I don't want to spend $500 on a cat back system for 4.7 hp gain. I'd rather save the money for wheels and tires to improve the horrid wet weather handling.

? Never seen an exhaust silencer for a car. Where could I find one? It sounds like it would be rather restrictive, but it would save money.

I had my IS300 up to 130 once driving back from Arkansas. I was playing around with a Mustang GT (no contest). I've only been to around 100 or so in the PR5. It doesn't get there near as fast as the IS300 did, but it's plenty fun to drive.

As you suggested, I tried to use the tools from Autozone. They fit just fine, but I think I accidentally pried the right side clip away from the unit the first time I tried to remove it. After that, I was unable to engage that clip or compress it so the unit could slide out.

Sounds like the swap should be pretty quick and easy. I didn't realize that our PR5 radio units were like the Ford units. My buddy had an old '93 mustang that had a similiar method for removing the unit. Anyone have an estimate on how long it would take to swap the two units out of curiousity?
